The Origin of Children's Day on June 1st

Children's Day is celebrated annually on June 1st in many countries around the world. But have you ever wondered why this day is chosen to honor children?

The history of Children's Day can be traced back to the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland in 1925. During this conference, representatives from different countries agreed to establish a special day to promote children's rights and well-being.

However, it was not until 1954 that the United Nations officially recognized November 20th as Universal Children's Day. This day was created to promote international togetherness and awareness among children worldwide, as well as to improve children's welfare.

In China, June 1st was chosen as Children's Day in 1949 by the government to promote the well-being of children and to encourage the development of education and culture for children. On this day, children are often treated to special activities and events, such as performances, games, and gifts.

Today, Children's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world, each with their own unique traditions and customs. It serves as a reminder of the importance of children in our lives and the need to ensure their well-being and happiness.
